Matt Markin
Matt has worked in higher education for over 20 years with 11 years in academic advising. Matt holds a B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Education-Career & Technical Education.
Matt has been active member in NACADA within the Regional Division as a past Region 9 chair, Annual Conference Advisory Board as an Annual Conference co-chair, as well as past member of the Global Awards Committee and Online Education Advisory Board. He currently serves as a mentor in the Emerging Leaders Program.
Matt was recognized with the NACADA Global Award as Outstanding Advisor-Primary Advising Role and Region 9 Excellence in Advising–Advisor Primary Role award. Matt hosts two academic advising related podcasts, Adventures in Advising and the CSUSB Advising Podcast. Matt also served as co-editor on NACADA’s pocket guide, Advising is Forever: Sharing Stories to Ignite (or Reignite) Your Advising Spirit.
